Southern California shook Easter Sunday with an earthquake five times as powerful as the Haitian earthquake. This quake was the most powerful to hit the region in 20 years. It struck the Laguna Salada fault line and could be felt 300 miles away from the epicenter.
Dr. Lucy Jones, seismologist and vetter of “Pandas’ Earthquake Escape,” was interviewed on ABC News about the earthquake and the possiblity of additional earthquakes in the region. Dr. Jones said, “Each earthquake makes another earthquake more likely, but only for a short period of time, and only relatively nearby.” Dr. Jones is with the U.S. Geological Survey
